Friends of Green Street Green

What started as a ‘lockdown project’ picking up litter on #TheGreen soon grew into a mission to clear years of accumulated rubbish from the surrounding undergrowth and woodland.

Local #LitterHeroes have continued to help keep #GreenStreetGreen clean and tidy ever since.

Our ‘First Saturday of the Month’ community litter-picks began in October 2022 and take place every month, meeting at 10am by the Village Sign.

In addition to litter picking, we have begun maintaining the shrub beds near the Village Sign, planting spring bulbs, and even cutting the grass.

Meanwhile, there have been some improvements on and around #TheGreen, including a new bench and picnic bench, replacement litter bins, and the planting of a number of new trees.

We would love more residents to join in and help make #GreenStreetGreen greener, cleaner and safer.
