Birkbeck Community Initiative

Birkbeck is a thriving yet largely overlooked area of the borough and as a group we want to improve the street scene & green spaces for the benefit of our local residents and businesses. The rationale being that if the area looks more attractive people will be more inclined to linger and spend more money locally. Our projects to date include litter picking, planting of wild flowers and bulbs, proposals to work with the council to install bike stands, seated planters and street trees as well as supporting our wide range of shops and eateries by shopping local.
